2016, which also marks BMW's centennial, is also a big year for their flagship product, the 7 Series. One model year into its all-new generation, the Bavarian automaker has already launched not one, but two performance iterations: the M760Li, and the B7 Alpina. But the dreams of enthusiasts go beyond these two stellar models. They hope an M7 will eventually break cover.

While BMW has said they can't confirm or deny they're developing such a car, signs are pointing to one being in development. Recently, a 7 Series sedan was seeing testing alongside an M5 and X6 M, suggesting that this model is part of the M performance division. To further that line of speculation, the prototype features cross drilled break disks, the kind you see on cars sporting north of 650 ponies. A telling sign.

Will it turn out that an M7 is in the works? We'll never say never. Stay tuned to our blog to learn more. For more information on our current stable of Bavarian luxury, contact our BMW dealership in Baton Rouge, LA to learn more.
